Aurora Aksnes, known mononymously as Aurora (stylised as AURORA), is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and producer. Her debut EP Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records in May 2015, receiving widespread approval from online music blogs and national press.

Later the same year she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away". This cover appears as a bonus track on the deluxe version of her debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, which was released worldwide on 11 March 2016.

Aurora's music is characterized by a dreamy, emotional and sophisticated pop, but still very catchy and direct; in the instrumental sections there are electronic, orchestral and folk elements. She has sometimes been compared to Susanne Sundfør, Emilíana Torrini, Florence and the Machine, Eivør, Kate Bush, Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Björk.

Alanis Morissette is a Canadian-American singer and songwriter known for her deeply expressive mezzo-soprano vocals and raw, introspective lyrics. Rising to prominence in the mid-1990s, she became one of the most influential artists of her generation, selling over 75 million records globally. Her career has been marked by critical and commercial success, earning her prestigious accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, fourteen Juno Awards, and nominations for a Tony Award and two Golden Globe Awards.
Morissette's musical journey began in Canada in the early 1990s with two dance-pop albums, Alanis (1991) and Now Is the Time (1992). Seeking a new direction, she moved to Los Angeles and reinvented herself with the alternative rock masterpiece Jagged Little Pill (1995). The album became a global sensation, ranking among the best-selling albums of all time. She followed up with Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998), an ambitious, experimental project that was met with high expectations. By the time she released Under Rug Swept (2002), Morissette had assumed full creative control, serving as the album’s sole producer. She continued evolving artistically with subsequent albums, including So-Called Chaos (2004), Flavors of Entanglement (2008), Havoc and Bright Lights (2012), Such Pretty Forks in the Road (2020), and The Storm Before the Calm (2022).
A trailblazer on the Billboard charts, Morissette holds the record for the most number-one hits on the Alternative Songs chart by a female artist. Her first three internationally released studio albums topped the Billboard 200, with her next four landing within the top 20. Iconic singles such as "You Oughta Know," "Hand in My Pocket," "Ironic," "You Learn," "Head Over Feet," "Uninvited," "Thank U," and "Hands Clean" cemented her as a defining voice in alternative rock. Rolling Stone hailed her as the "queen of alt-rock angst," while VH1 ranked her among the greatest women in rock and roll. In 2005, she was honored with induction into Canada's Walk of Fame, solidifying her legacy as a pivotal figure in modern music.
